The Birth of a Suzuki
Michio Suzuki began the Suzuki Loom Company in Japan in the year 1909. His goal was to make user friendly weaving looms for the giant silk industry. This kept up for a few decades, but during that time Suzuki looked to expand operations and get into a more diverse product line. In 1937 they began a project to build a few different prototypes of a car. This whole project was built around a very innovative engine. It was four stroke, liquid cooled and four cylinders. But this was on put on hold during World War II because passenger cars were not deemed a need by the government at that time. So he found his way back in the weaving business. But when that dried up, Suzuki turned their focus onto motorcycle. This would lead to what they are most known for today.
